New Member Experience
The Phi Program – This eight-week new member program enhances the Phi Mu Experience by helping new members transition into Fraternity membership. The online component includes an orientation, expectations of membership and journal prompts which help our new members begin their lifetime involvement in Phi Mu. The online modules in partnership with Phi meetings provide new members with the framework for personal, academic, social and professional growth.
Phi Mu's New Member Experience kicks off after bid day.
In the Fall of 2020, we bid in 48 new members or "Phis". Once our new "Phis" are welcomed in the house, they begin our new member education program, also referred to as our "Phi Program". The program emphasizes the Phi Mu experience including an orientation to the organization, expectations of membership and education on involvement and leadership opportunities. We focus on providing a positive, interactive educational program for our members.
Quick Facts about our Phi Program:
- Focused on Phi Mu History, traditions, symbols and education
- Duration of 8 weeks (initiation will be in November)
- Weekly meetings with new members and Phi Director
