Why Join Phi Mu

Maybe you have it all figured out, maybe not. In either case you'll need friends to help you along the way. Girlfriends. Sisters. Friends committed to you through a lifetime of ups and downs. Friends who'll help you grow as a person and as a leader. Friends who'll be there when you realize that you really don't have it all figured out. Friends who'll need you to be there for them, too. You know the type. They are the girlfriends who demonstrate that BFF sort of connection with you. They are there to build you up and to be by your side as you build up others. They have a special sort of energy about them. They are vibrant. And they're looking forward to friending you at Phi Mu.

Four Reasons YOU should be a Phi Mu:

  • To Make Friends
  • To Be The Best You
  • For An Opportunity To Lead
  • Because You Like To Help Others

Thoughts From Phi Mus

"Phi Mu is a place for friendships, personal growth, campus involvement, service opportunities, and — more than anything else — a place to call home. I chose Phi Mu because it made a big campus like Purdue feel a little bit smaller. I chose Phi Mu because I wanted to challenge myself to try something new and to get involved. I chose Phi Mu because each person I met was so passionate and kind and inspiring. However, even more important than the reasons I chose Phi Mu are the reasons I have chosen to stay in Phi Mu. Each day, I am surrounded by people who make me laugh, who care about me, and who push me to be the most authentic version of myself. Phi Mu has seen me at my highest highs and lowest lows and has always met me with open arms and a true sense of belonging. I truly cannot imagine what my college experience would look like without the people I have met through this house. Beyond this though, Phi Mu has given me the opportunity to grow so much as a person and as a leader. As I look toward my senior year, I know that I am leaving this chapter a more confident, decisive, empathetic, and well-rounded individual than I was when I first joined. Phi Mu has given me a home these past four years and, for that, I cannot thank this house enough." - Isabella White PC'20, Phi Mu President

"Every individual in our chapter is unique in their own special way and we celebrate those differences, as our sisterhood would not be complete without them. Phi Mu has personally helped shape me into the woman I am today by providing me with opportunities to grow and learn, as well as giving me the confidence to peruse other goals I have for myself in the future. " - Caitlin Davis PC'20, Recruitment Chair Director

"The girls in Phi Mu are so hardworking and welcoming that I strive to be a better person and work towards my goals more than I ever have before. I am growing to be the best version of myself because of who I am surrounded by. I truly respect each girl in this house. Each girl is unique, but we all get along so well and I know I could go to anyone for advice." - Nimisha Iyer PC'21

“I chose Phi Mu because I immediately felt welcomed to the house and sisterhood. Everyone I met during recruitment was so genuine and I could tell they really cared about me and my recruitment experience. I knew that this was a place where I would always be accepted as my true, authentic self. Even before bid day, I felt at home when I was at Phi Mu. I’m so grateful to be a Phi Mu and to have met such amazing people that I know will always support me and my endeavors.” - Cece Kutheis PC ‘22
