Why Join Phi Mu

Maybe you have it all figured out, maybe not. In either case you'll need friends to help you along the way. Girlfriends. Sisters. Friends committed to you through a lifetime of ups and downs. Friends who'll help you grow as a person and as a leader. Friends who'll be there when you realize that you really don't have it all figured out. Friends who'll need you to be there for them, too. You know the type. They are the girlfriends who demonstrate that BFF sort of connection with you. They are there to build you up and to be by your side as you build up others. They have a special sort of energy about them. They are vibrant. And they're looking forward to friending you at Phi Mu.

Four Reasons YOU should be a Phi Mu:

  • To Make Friends
  • To Be The Best You
  • For An Opportunity To Lead
  • Because You Like To Help Others

Thoughts From Phi Mus

"I could give a million reasons why I chose Phi Mu. Phi Mu means more to me than being a part of an organization. Phi Mu has provided me my best friends, women I admire, experiences with growing as a person, and many more. The list goes on. When I was an incoming student, I did not want to go through recruitment. I didn't think sororities would be for me and I felt as though they were something I wasn't. Thankfully I decided to go through recruitment, and I remember telling my friends and family I liked Phi Mu. I came to Purdue from Massachusetts knowing nothing about sororities, but I felt good about Phi Mu. I'm glad I chose Phi Mu, as I have grown immensely as a person through the people who have inspired me to become a better version of myself." -Aine Mendonca, Phi Mu President

"All the women were so unique and passionate about everything that they took on, so I knew I could learn so much from them." -Tori Welker, Recruitment Chair Director

"I always left Phi Mu feeling so much better than when I walked in. I felt so welcomed and could tell that all of the women had such deep respect for one another." - Allison Galitz, PC '18

"Phi Mu has allowed me to break out of my comfort zone so many times within these last few years. From getting a job on campus as a freshman through the recommendation of an older sister to modeling for the Purdue Fashion Show for a couple of the girls in the house, and all the crazy adventures that I’ve had in-between, Phi Mu has not only given me the courage to try new things, but it has also given me the support that I needed during my new ventures. Phi Mu attracts genuine, beautiful, passionate, and unique women. No two Phi Mus are alike, and I believe that that is the most amazing part of our sisterhood. We each have different perspectives, passions, and dreams that we share with one another that allow all of us to grow in our own ways. Through all of the good experiences and bad experiences that I’ve had in the past three years, my Phi Mu sisters have always been by my side. Going Phi Mu is easily one of the best decisions that I have ever made." - Kristin Paganelli, Alumna, Phi Mu Foundation Scholarship recipient

"I chose Phi Mu because each conversation that I had during recruitment, I felt like I was learning something. The people I spoke to were all passionate about something and the things I care about really aligned with what they were saying. " - Erika Pemberton, PC '20
